Visual comparisons
The first video compares the Pixel 9 Pro XL to the Pixel 9, showing that the latter will be smaller. The second video compares the Pixel 9 Pro XL with the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, showing how the smaller Pixel compares to Samsung's larger model.
Launch event
Google will unveil the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold on August 13, in a surprise event that will be held two months earlier than usual. While that attack was initially thought to be intended to prevent leaks, it clearly didn't work as expected.
Successors and Strategy
The Pixel 9 will be the successor to the Pixel 8, while the Pixel 9 Pro XL will succeed the Pixel 8 Pro. The Pixel 9 Pro will have the same internals as the Pixel 9 Pro XL, but its dimensions will be similar to the Pixel 9. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be the successor to the original Pixel Fold. This strategy from Google seems clear with these launches.
Prices and trends
The prices of these devices have been filtered out over time, revealing that some have remained the same as last year, while others have increased. Samsung also adjusted the prices of its Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 earlier this week, following an unfortunate trend of price increases in the smartphone market.
