Edwin van der Sar, 52, was taken to an intensive care unit on Friday after suffering a brain hemorrhage. The state of health of the former Manchester United and Ajax goalkeeper is “stable but still worrying”as reported by the Dutch club themselves with the permission of their relatives.

The former Dutch international, who played 130 matches for his countryhe resigned as chief executive of Ajax in May after the team finished third in the Dutch league and failed to qualify for the Champions League for the first time since 2009.
He retired as a player after leaving Manchester United in 2011, before joining the Ajax board in 2012 before becoming the club’s chief executive officer in 2016.. Van der Sar played 266 games for the Red Devils and helped them win four Premier League titles and the 2008 Champions League.
He also played in the Premier League with Fulham and in Serie A with Juventus. They former club and teammates have already shown their support in Van der Sar. “The Van der Sar family, along with Ajax, are grateful and deeply moved by the many messages of support,” said Ajax.
